Pray that the saints would realize their need for God’s Word, would prayerfully read and study it, and would learn to speak the living word as the power for their gospel preaching (Rom. 1:16; Acts 4:31; 8:4, 35; 19:20; 2 Tim. 2:15; 4:2).

Pray that the saints would see that the genuine power of the gospel comes through prayer and would thus become burdened to pray (Acts 4:31; 6:4 and 4¹; 1:8, 14 and 14³).

Pray that by the Lord’s grace the saints would receive and carry out the great commission of Christ in resurrection to disciple the nations and teach them the teachings of Christ, to proclaim the gospel to all the creation, to proclaim repentance for forgiveness of sins, and to witness a resurrected Christ appointed by God to be the Lord and Christ and the Leader and Savior (Matt. 28:19-20a; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47; Acts 2:32, 36; 5:30-32).

Pray that the saints would heed the call of the gospel from four directions: the call from above, the Lord’s command from the heavens; the call from below, the cry from those in Hades; the call from inside of us, the inward sense of our pressing, heartfelt responsibility; and the call from without, the call from the desperate need of people for the gospel (Mark 16:15; Matt. 28:19; Luke 16:27-28; 1 Cor. 9:16-17; Acts 16:9).

Pray that the saints would not be cold toward the gospel but that the fire of the gospel would burn in all the churches, that all the saints would be filled with the proper zeal for the gospel, and that they would become those who are filled with the economical Spirit to be full of power in the gospel (Rom. 12:11; Mark 16:20; Acts 4:29-31; 5:42).

Pray for the saints to be filled with the spirit of the gospel inwardly that they might spontaneously have a proper attitude toward the gospel outwardly (Acts 18:25b; 17:16; Rom. 1:16; 1 Cor. 9:19, 22b-23; 2 Cor. 12:15a; 2 Tim. 4:2a; Phil. 1:27-28a).

Pray that the saints would be burdened to convert sinners into members of Christ for the carrying out of God’s economy and that they would realize the great need to gain the increase in order to bring in the materials for the building of God’s house (Rom. 15:16; 1 Pet. 2:5, 9; Hag. 1:8 and 8¹).

Pray that the saints would learn to be burdened with the loving concern of God’s heart toward perishing sinners and that they would touch God’s heart toward sinners and allow Him to work Himself into them so that their heart might become a reproduction of His heart (Luke 19:10; John 3:16-17; Rom. 5:6-8; Titus 3:3-5).

Pray for the saints to become lovers of men—those who are one with the Lord to have a genuine love not only for the brothers but also for all men, and who have a genuine interest in men—as the basic qualification to serve men in the gospel (Gen. 1:26; John 3:16; Gal 2:20b; Mark 10:45; 1 Thes. 3:12).
