禱告使聖徒在基督奧秘的身體裏經歷並享受與聖徒的交通，並且見證祂奧秘身體的一；這是赴主的筵席所著重的—水平的一面（林前十16～17，詩歌178首，第三節和副歌）。

林前十16-17—我們所祝福的福杯，豈不是基督之血的交通麼？我們所擘開的餅，豈不是基督身體的交通麼？因著只有一個餅，我們雖多，還是一個身體，因我們都分受這一個餅。
