祷告使圣徒在基督奥秘的身体里经历并享受与圣徒的交通，并且见证祂奥秘身体的一；这是赴主的筵席所著重的—水平的一面（林前十16～17，诗歌178首，第三节和副歌）。

林前十16-17—我们所祝福的福杯，岂不是基督之血的交通么？我们所擘开的饼，岂不是基督身体的交通么？因着只有一个饼，我们虽多，还是一个身体，因我们都分受这一个饼。
