Day 99: Prayer for the saints to deal with the Lord under His shining light
Pray for the saints to deal with the Lord not in the way of introspection or in the way of confessing merely according to objective knowledge but in the way of being under the shining of His light in their loving fellowship with Him (S. S. 2:9 and note 91; Heb. 12:2; Isa. 6:1, 5; Job 42:5-6 and note 61).
S. S. 2:9—My beloved is like a gazelle or a young hart. / Now he stands behind our wall; / He is looking through the windows, / He is glancing through the lattice.
Heb. 12:2—Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down on the right hand of the throne of God.
Isa. 6:1, 5—In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne, and the train of His robe filled the temple…Then I said, / Woe is me, for I am finished! / For I am a man of unclean lips, / And in the midst of a people of unclean lips I dwell; / Yet my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.
Job 42:5-6—I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, / But now my eye has seen You; / Therefore I abhor myself, and I repent / In dust and ashes.
