祷告使圣徒看见释放灵唱诗歌的重要，好在聚会中涌流生命和灵（弗五18～19，约六63，林前十四15下，补充本诗歌116首，第1、4节）。

弗五18下-19—乃要在灵里被充满，用诗章、颂辞、灵歌，彼此对说，从心中向主歌唱、颂咏，

约六63 - 赐人生命的乃是灵，肉是无益的；我对你们所说的话，就是灵，就是生命。

林前十四15下—我要用灵歌唱，也要用心思歌唱。
