禱告使聖徒直接向主說話，用美言說到主的身位和工作而頌讚主（詩一〇三1，啟五12~13，詩歌第382首，1~3節和副歌）。

詩一〇三1—我的魂哪，你要頌讚耶和華；在我裡面的一切，都要頌讚祂的聖名。

啟五12-13—大聲說，曾被殺的羔羊，是配得能力、豐富、智慧、力量、尊貴、榮耀、頌讚的。我又聽見在天上、地上、地底下、滄海裡的一切受造之物，以及天地間的萬有都說，但願頌讚、尊貴、榮耀、權能，都歸與坐寶座的和羔羊，直到永永遠遠。
