Day 192: Prayer for the saints to have the spirit of the gospel
Pray for the saints to be filled with the spirit of the gospel inwardly that they might spontaneously have a proper attitude toward the gospel outwardly (Acts 18:25b; 17:16; Rom. 1:16; 1 Cor. 9:19, 22b-23; 2 Cor. 12:15a; 2 Tim. 4:2a; Phil. 1:27-28a).
Acts 18:25b—Being fervent in spirit, [Apollos] spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus.
Acts 17:16—And while Paul was waiting for them in Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he beheld that the city was full of idols.
Rom. 1:16—For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes, both to Jew first and to Greek.
1 Cor. 9:19, 22b-23—For though I am free from all, I have enslaved myself to all that I might gain the more…To all men I have become all things that I might by all means save some. And I do all things for the sake of the gospel that I may become a fellow partaker of it.
2 Cor. 12:15a—But I, I will most gladly spend and be utterly spent on behalf of your souls.
2 Tim. 4:2a—Proclaim the word; be ready in season and out of season.
Phil. 1:27-28a—Only, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, that whether coming and seeing you or being absent, I may hear of the things concerning you, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving together along with the faith of the gospel, and in nothing being frightened by the opposers.
