Pray that the saints would see the need for both the fishing ministry and the mending ministry—first the fishing ministry to bring people in, and then the mending ministry to keep them from falling out (Matt. 4:18-22; 16:19a; Rev. 21:2).

Pray that  the saints would eagerly learn the principles needed to bring people to the Lord and would practice these principles in order to learn the proper time and the proper way to reach people—to “catch the fish” (Acts 2:41; 4:4).

Pray that the saints would learn to know the different kinds of people, just as fishermen know the categories of fish, so that they will know what kind of “bait” they need to attract people to Christ (John 3:1-6; 4:5-7, 9-10, 14-15).

Pray that the saints would see that their visiting people is a preparation for the Holy Spirit to sanctify them, and that they would contact people to afford the seeking Spirit a “line” to “hook” the lost sinners (1 Pet. 1:2 and note 25; 2 Thes. 2:13; Luke 15:8-10 and notes 82 and 83; John…

Pray that the saints would get vitalized personally and with a few co-laboring companions to the extent that they would “go fishing” to get some “new fish” (Dan. 1:6; 2 Tim. 2:22).

Pray that the saints would realize that there are many sinners, many “fish” around them in the place where they live, and would “go fishing”—go contact them consistently week after week, until they eventually gain someone (Matt. 4:19; Luke 5:10b).  

Pray that the saints would realize that preaching the gospel is to be fishers of men, which requires  contacting people patiently, again and again, until they are “caught” unto life and brought out of the world into the kingdom of the heavens (Matt. 4:18-20; Luke 5:9-10 and note 102; Acts 11:18).

Pray that the saints would see the urgent need to preach the gospel of peace, the glad tidings that Christ is our peace, our peace offering, and the Peacemaker, the One who broke down the middle wall of partition, the enmity, abolishing in His flesh the law of the commandments in ordinances, that He might…

Pray that the saints would proclaim the glad tidings concerning the kingdom of God, through which God brings people under the ruling of the heavenly authority so that they may become His kingdom (Matt. 24:14; Luke 4:43; Acts 8:12).

Pray that the saints would proclaim the glad tidings of Christ’s victory over the enemy (Gen. 49:9 and notes 91 and 92; 1 John 3:8b; Col. 2:15; Heb. 2:14; Psa. 68:11-12).
