Day 80: Prayer to practice receiving the Lord’s word for prayer

Pray that the saints would daily practice two steps in receiving the Lord’s word—first, receiving the Lord’s word from the Bible richly into them, and second, receiving that word explained by the Spirit, obtaining the Lord’s word richly from the Spirit—being inspired and receiving the Lord’s word in the spirit (Col. 3:16; 2 Tim. 3:14-17; cf. Acts 8:29, 35).

Col. 3:16—Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.

2 Tim. 3:14-17—But you, continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from which ones you have learned them and that from a babe you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.

Acts 8:29, 35—And the Spirit said to Philip, Approach and join this chariot…And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he announced Jesus as the gospel to him.
