Pray that many of the young people would give themselves to the Lord to grow in life and in the knowledge of the truth (Eph. 4:15; 1 Pet. 2:2; 1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Pet. 3:18a).
Eph. 4:15—But holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ.
1 Pet. 2:2—As newborn babes, long for the guileless milk of the word in order that by it you may grow unto salvation.
1 Tim. 2:4—Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.
2 Tim. 3:15-17—And that from a babe you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
2 Pet. 3:18a—But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The young saints need to grow in life, and they need to grow in the knowledge of the truth. We praise the Lord that some from their youth have begun to love the Lord and take the Lord’s way in His recovery. The Lord will eventually accomplish something with these ones. We may take Samuel as an example. In his youth he was sent to Eli the priest. That was the way for Samuel to be educated. He learned many things and eventually became a great prophet and writer.
The young people must pay attention to the growth in life and to learning the truth…Life is available in the Spirit, and truth is available in the Word. Without life in the Spirit and the truth in the Word we have no way to grow. The Spirit and the Word are like two wires that are both needed for the transmission of electricity. One wire alone is not sufficient. If we mean business with the Lord, we must grow in these two sides…
The best time to learn is when we are young. Therefore, the young ones should not miss the opportunity. If the young ones are faithful to grow in life and in the knowledge of the truth, they will be well equipped by the time they are middle-aged, and the Lord will have a way to advance His move through them. Even one useful vessel like Samuel affords the Lord a way to accomplish much…The young people today should not waste their time or miss the golden opportunity of their youth to grow in life and in the knowledge of the truth in order to be useful to the Lord later in life.
The Lord will not come back until there is something on earth that is worthy of His return. The young people need to be faithful to become ones whom He can use to bring in His coming. As long as we grow in life and in the knowledge of the truth, the Lord will use us…If all the saints in the recovery were thus equipped, it would revolutionize society. If we are full of growth in life and full of the knowledge of the truth, we will be dynamic and full of impact. We will never regret the time we spend with the Lord in His Word for the sake of our growth in life and our knowledge of the truth. This time is never a waste.
