Day 303: Prayer for the saints to learn to cherish the new believers
Pray that the saints would learn how to cherish the new believers, taking care of them and making them happy, in such a way that their hearts would be open to the saints and their nourishing (John 21:12-15 and note 121; 1 Thes. 2:7 and note 72; Eph. 5:29 and note 291; Hymns, #1068, ss. 1-2 and chorus).
John 21:12-15— Jesus said to them, Come and have breakfast. But none of the disciples dared to inquire of Him, Who are you? knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise. This was now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples after He had been raised from the dead. Then when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs.
1 Thes. 2:7—But we were gentle in your midst, as a nursing mother would cherish her own children.
Eph. 5:29—For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ also the church.
