Day 157: Prayer for the saints to overcome Satan
Pray that the saints would withstand the devil and overcome him in every way by faith, the word of God, their divine birth, the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and their not loving their soul-life even unto death (James 4:7; 1 Pet. 5:8-9a; 1 John 2:14b; 5:18-19 and note 194; Rev. 12:11; Hymns, #880, s. 1).
James 4:7—Be subject therefore to God; but withstand the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Pet. 5:8-9a—Be sober; watch. Your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking someone to devour. Him withstand, being firm in your faith.
1 John 2:14b—I have written to you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the evil one.
1 John 5:18-19—We know that everyone who is begotten of God does not sin, but he who has been begotten of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil one.
Rev. 12:11—And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul-life even unto death.
